Frequently asked questions

  • Do your assessments follow the same standards as the NHS?

At Leap, we use gold standard, recognised assessment tools and follow the same assessment process as local NHS trusts. We are NICE guidance compliant, and all of our clinicians are experienced and highly qualified.

  • Can I bring someone with me to my assessment?

You are free to bring someone with you to support if this is what you would like to do. If you are having an ADOS-2 assessment, we kindly ask that anyone accompanying you does so as an observer only, as we need to assess how you respond to the assessment. For an ADI-R assessment, we recommend bringing someone with you who knows you well as we would like to ask them questions, especially with relation to your early development (if possible).

  • Do you offer discounts?

Yes, we currently offer a 15% discount off the comprehensive assessment for students, and NHS and private sector healthcare staff. We also offer this discount to parents on maternity/paternity leave as we realise that this can often be a trigger point for somebody seeking an assessment. Just ask at the point of booking.

  • How long is the waiting list?

The short answer is that we don’t have a waiting list! We can generally offer you an appointment within a month of enquiry. Appointments are available of an evening or weekend.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

We understand that pursuing a private assessment is a big investment in yourself so we do offer individualised payment plans. E.g. spreading the cost of your assessment over 6 months. Please ask about this at the time of booking for more information.

  • Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?

Everyone is welcome at Leap, always. Come as you are, we’ll meet you there.
